UKI Toraja held an open senate meeting in the framework of the undergraduate graduation for the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Graduation was held over two days, namely on 13 and 14 October 2023 considering the limited capacity of campus hall 1. On the first day, a graduation procession was held for 554 graduates from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Economics. On the second day, there were 615 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Theology.
Chancellor of UKI Toraja, Dr Oktavianus Pasoloran, SE, M.Sc., Ak. CA., in his report said that UKI Toraja was in the process of nominating lecturers for professor level. “We hope to realize good university governance which is part of the process of achieving UKI Toraja’s vision and mission.”
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Head of LLDikti region IX Sultanbatara, Deputy Regent of Tana Toraja District, forkopimda, Chair of the Tana Toraja DPRD, the police, Kodim, BPS Toraja Church, YPTKM Management, all UKI Toraja partners and stakeholders, as well as UKI Toraja academics.
Rev. Dr. Christian Tanduk Langi, M.Th., general secretary of the Toraja Church BPS, in his speech thanked the parents of the graduates for their trust in UKI Toraja as an educational service institution for the Toraja Church. Head of LLDikti region IX Sultanbatara, Dr. Andi Lukman, M.Sc., invited us to continue to improve the quality of education by maintaining higher education governance and management.”
Even though the graduation ceremony lasted for two days, the graduation event still went well, smoothly and conducively. Chairman of the graduation committee Willy Yafet Tandirerung, M.Hut. expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders and community who have contributed and collaborated in carrying out this graduation. Before the graduation ceremony, on October 29 2023, the committee held a coordination meeting with the Tana Toraja Environmental Service, Satpol PP, Tana Toraja Police, DPRD members, and journalists. Congestion, rubbish and vehicle parking can be handled properly during this graduation ceremony.
Deputy chairman of the YPTKM management, Drs. Yulianus Sampe, M.Si, AK, CA., advised the graduates, “it is not only enough to master science and technology, but more than that, we must be able to adapt quickly.”
“The presence of UKI Toraja is very encouraging for Tana Toraja and North Toraja Regency. “The Tana Toraja Regency Government gives its appreciation to UKI Toraja which is able to make a major contribution to the region as well as the nation and state,” concluded the Deputy Regent of Tana Toraja, Dr. Zadrak Tombe, Sp.A.
